KAHSA 2004 THE EDITH L.
STUNKEL EMPLOYER OF THE YEAR AWARD is
presented annually to the KAHSA organization
with outstanding employment practices or
program that empower staff. Mennonite Manor
received the recognition for its development
of the Mennonite Manor Ambassadors,
recognizing outstanding staff members.
Ambassadors are selected prior to the Manor
annual recognition banquet, with winners
announced at the event.

KAHSA 2004 INNOVATION OF THE
YEAR HONORABLE MENTION AWARD is presented to an
association member who shows vision and
creativity in care and services for the elderly.
Mennonite Manor received the award for its Crime
Stopper program. Working with the Reno County
Crime Stoppers and the South Hutchinson police,
this program is a collaboration of direct care
staff and community resources to increase the
safekeeping of resident’s possessions.

KAHSA 2004 EXCELLENCE IN
COMMUNITY SERVICE is designed to recognize an organization
that has demonstrated social accountability, caring
and compassion through a community service
initiative. Mennonite Manor received the award for
its ongoing LIVE Nativity program, an annual event
strengthening ties between the residents, families,
Mennonite Manor and the community. Community
members, residents and staff participate in the
living nativity, which has grown every year and now
includes three showings.

KAHSA 2004 AWARDS OF RECOGNITION
Mennonite Manor’s Home Health Agency received
Recognition in honor of a zero deficiency survey by
the Kansas Department of Health and Environment in
their provision of Quality Care. Mennonite Manor’s
Health Care Facility received Recognition for being
among the top ten percent of the Facilities in
Kansas in the survey by the Kansas Department of
Health and Environment.

Kansas Advocates for Better Care has
released its nursing home list of homes with 5 or fewer
inspection deficiencies for the three most recent
inspections. Mennonite Manor of South Hutchinson, KS was
one of the few included in this list.

Peak Pioneer Award November, 2002 -
Mennonite Manor became one of only seven health care
facilities in the State of Kansas to receive the
Promoting Excellent Alternatives in Kansas (PEAK) award
from the Kansas Department on Aging. This award was
created to recognize homes that are successfully
pursuing what the Department on Aging calls
"non-traditional models of care, with progressive,
home-like environments... known nationally as "culture
change".
